Karla Sourasky Olmos, L.Ac. is a master acupuncturist that specializes mainly but not exclusively, in the treatment of severe chronic pain.Karla graduated with honors from Universidad Anahuac School of Medicine in Mexico City, Mexico. Upon moving to the United States, she decided to pursue a more holistic path. In 2014 she graduated from the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture with a Masters in Acupuncture. She is State Licensed and National Certified (NCCAOM) as an Acupuncturist.

Karla was born and raised in Mexico City. As a child she loved science and was always interested in the human body and how amazing it functions. She always knew she wanted to be a doctor. Karla was first exposed to acupuncture during medical school.

Karla's grandparents suffered from arthritis and back pain. Karla felt very frustrated because conventional medicine was not offering them the relief they were seeking and they were still struggling with everyday activities because of pain. After multiple doctor visits, her grandparents decided to try acupuncture. Being a Western-trained physician, Karla was very skeptical about it but later she learned that Acupuncture was able to bring them the relief that western medicine was not able to provide.

After graduating from medical school Karla got married and moved to the United States. It was at this time she put her career on hold to raise her two beautiful boys. As a mom, she was always looking for natural alternatives to medications for her kids when it was possible and had time to read and learn more about holistic medicine. But it was not until she had a knee injury when she was reminded of the power of Acupuncture, which completely eliminated her pain and healed her knee without the need for any medications. At that moment, Karla realized that she wanted to continue her medical education learning about holistic medicine to be able to use it not as an alternative medicine but as a complementary part of allopathic care. She realized that her medical background was going to help her to bridge eastern and western medicine and help as many people as possible.

During acupuncture school, Karla had the opportunity to shadow a local Korean acupuncturist who specializes in pain. After graduating, she established her own practice out of a chiropractic office where she was able to integrate her knowledge and help many people. The results she witnessed were nothing short of amazing and reaffirmed her that her decision was the correct one.

Karla sees the body as the most specialized and perfect machine that has the ability to heal itself and her purpose is to help her patients to reactivate their self-healing capability with acupuncture, supplements, and proper nutrition so they can live a life with less or no pain and a meaningful and joyful one.

Karla loves spending time with her husband and kids. She loves to practice yoga and pilates and enjoys reading any type of books, but truly enjoys books about health and nutrition.
